About this event

About 25km along the Arakawa cycling road. It is flat the entire way — no hills at all — so this works if you haven't ridden in years. We stop roughly every 8km. There are toilets and vending machines at the rest points, but almost no shops once you're on the riverbank, so bring water before we start. A city bike is fine. Last time two people came on rental bikes from the station and kept up without trouble. The wind matters more than the distance here. If it's blowing upstream we'll turn around earlier rather than fight it — I'd rather cut it short than have people arrive miserable. We finish at Akabane and take the train back. Bikes need a bag on the train, so most people ride back the same way instead.
